The Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) is authorized under applicable Florida law to obtain fingerprint results from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for the express purpose of evaluating an applicant’s criminal history for licensure purposes. The information obtained will be held confidential by the department; however, the applicant can receive their national criminal history record directly from the Federal Bureau of Investigation pursuant to Title 28, Code of Federal Regulation, Section 16.30.
