Thank you for your interest in the Kootenai Electric Community Solar Program (Program). By completing this Application (Application), you have an opportunity to participate in the Program. You agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions (collectively the Agreement). All policies and procedures of Kootenai Electric Cooperative (KEC) are incorporated by reference into the Agreement. This Application is specifically for participation in the solar project located at 18182 West Setters Road, Worley, Idaho (Project).

In an effort to achieve its ambitious sustainability goals, New York State is promoting a wide range of renewable energy programs. One such program is Community Solar. Community Solar is a guaranteed savings program administered through the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), which allows homeowners, renters, and businesses to enjoy the benefits of solar power without installing solar panels on their property. New Yorkers can enroll with a Community Solar provider at no cost to receive solar energy credits (directly on their monthly electric bill) from a solar farm located within their utility (National Grid). This will result in a 10% savings on the monthly electric bills.

PARTICIPATION: Please provide me with kilowatt (kW) units of solar energy. A total of 3,000 kW units are available from the Phase I Solar Farm. Each kW unit is projected to generate an average of 144 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of energy per month on an annual basis. I agree to the Terms and Conditions listed below. I understand that this Agreement will become effective when Independence Power & Light (IPL) approves it, below. I agree that billing under the terms of this Agreement will begin on the first day of the billing month following the effective date of this Agreement. Customer’s Proportionate Share of solar energy will be the percentage of The Solar Farm’s energy production attributed to the number of kW units noted above.
