The Achieve3000 online program provides expository test articles to English Language Learners on their individual reading levels in English, Spanish, and Haitian-Creole. This program will provide access for 27 schools for the middle and high school levels to close the achievement gap for English Language Learners. The online program allows teachers to assign articles in all content areas based on individual student needs and meets state standards. The Title III program will purchase the copyrighted materials from Achieve3000 to meet the needs of English Language Learners to acquire academic language in accordance with the No Child Left Behind Law. The cost will include the training, online access for teachers and access for 550 students. The online program is copyrighted by Achieve3000 and is not available from any other source.

Brevard school libraries are currently using Legacy, an obsolete server based Follett software product, to manage their collections. This software is not designed to function properly in the newer Windows environments causing server crashes, data losses, and is no longer supported by Follett. Purchasing Follett’s Destiny Resource Manager, a hosted service, will make library management more efficient and effective at supporting active student learning and the Common Core Standards. It will allow school libraries to manage and use their print resources more efficiently, as well as integrate digital resources such as databases, and eBooks. Destiny provides engaging tools for students to find, share, and use resources, including one of the first mobile apps for school libraries, thus providing collection transparency and support for our growing digital collection.

The District has used Edulog.nt software for bus routing, boundary planning, student identification, state reporting and web query since 1995. This annual contract with Education Logistics includes the cost for annual software maintenance.

Brevard Community College and Brevard Public Schools are partnering to provide GED classes to eligible students who wish learn a construction trade. The classes will be hosted at Brevard Community College and they will be reimbursing the District for the part time GED instructor. The project is funded through a grant from the United States Department of Labor.
