by which the inventor becomes obli- gated to pay the invention developer less than $5,000 (not to include any ad- ditional sums which the invention de- veloper is to receive as a result of suc- cessful development of the invention). ‘‘Contract for invention development services’’ means a contract for inven- tion development services with an in- vention developer with respect to an invention made by a customer by which the inventor becomes obligated to pay the invention developer less than $5,000 (not to include any addi- tional sums which the invention devel- oper is to receive as a result of success- ful development of the invention).
