WHERAS, the District has qualified for State of California grant funds (“Funds”) to be disbursed over a one (1) year period pursuant to the After School Education and Safety Program (“Program”), created in the 2002 California voter approves Proposition 49, enacted as Article 22.5 in the California Education Code Section 8482 et. seq. and administered by the California Department of Education; and

WHERAS, the Program Funds and the additional funds received by the District under the Expanded Learning Opportunity Program have been provided so that the District may partner with a local non-profit organization to provide services in furtherance of the Program’s purpose to deliver enrichment activities, as described in Education Code Section 46120, for the benefit of students from the ending of each regular school day to 6 p.m.;
