A Cooperative Sponsorship is a formal agreement between two or more schools to allow their students to compete on the same team. These must be approved by local school boards and the Minnesota State High School League. Cooperative Sponsorships are in effect for a minimum of two years or until dissolved by all active participating schools.

Athletic activities provide educational experiences for enrolled students who meet the eligibility requirements established by the North Dakota High School Activities Association. Opportunities for regularly enrolled students will be provided to the greatest extent possible.
