Overdraft means there is not enough available balance in your account to pay for a transaction. If we pay an overdraft (OD) or return an item unpaid (NSF), we will charge your account either an Overdraft (OD fee) or an Non-Sufficient Fund (NSF fee). The fee is described in our Fee Schedule, which is updated periodically.

Contract Type FiledJanuary 7th, 2020In accordance with our commitment to provide valued service and benefits, we may, at our discretion, pay your overdrafts that would cause your eligible checking account to have a negative balance up to the amount of your Courtesy Pay limit, which is determined by us in our sole and absolute discretion. We refer to this service as our Courtesy Pay Service (hereinafter referred to as the “Service”). This Courtesy Pay Agreement (“Agreement”) sets forth the terms and conditions applicable to the Service. The Service is available for checking accounts for which the primary checking account owner is 18 years of age or older and has been a member in good standing for at least ninety (90) days. We reserve the right to limit the Service to one (1) account per household or member.

The words "we," "us," and "our" mean South Bay Credit Union. The word "overdraft" includes a negative balance in your primary checking account with us ("Checking Account") that may occur for various reasons, including, but not limited to: (1) the payment of checks, Automated Clearing House (ACH) items, or other withdrawal requests authorized by you; (2) the return (unpaid) of items deposited by you; (3) the imposition of service charges by us; or (4) the deposit of items which are treated as not yet "available" according to our Funds Availability Policy.

Contract Type FiledAugust 17th, 2017As an added benefit to your share draft account, United Equity Credit Union (UECU) offers a “Courtesy Pay” program. This service covers your overdrafts (share draft and ACH transactions only) should you inadvertently overdraw your share draft account. This is an additional account feature and should not be considered a line of credit. If you elect to participate in the program, UECU will cover your items up to a maximum limit set by the credit union. A Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fee will be charged for each item that is paid after an initial free Courtesy Paid item each year. However, by having these items paid by UECU, you will potentially avoid additional fees that the merchant would charge for items returned to them. If multiple items are presented against your account on the same day, each item will be assessed a Courtesy Pay fee.
