The capability of HICO remote-sensing methods for mapping the ba thymetry and coral reefs in sout h-west coast of Leizhou Peninsula in South China is evaluated. Habitats were defined as assemblages of benthic macro-organisms and substrata. Their health was influenced by environmental changes (such as transparency and sediment cover etc.). By combined analysis of water quality parameters (chlorophyll A, s uspended matter and yellow substa nces), spectr al reflec tance features at different d epths a nd radiative tr ansfer modeling, we expect to quantity th e depth-of-detection limit and map the different seafloors in typically clear coral reef waters of subtropical z one. The resu lts will validate HICO produ cts of ref lectance and ba thymetry and guide habitat mana gers by appropriate remote-sensing methods of bathymetry and coral reef environment.

The 2018 LSAHP is the first nationally representative longitudinal study of older people in the Philippines. The study is designed primarily to (1) investigate the health status and wellbeing of the Filipino older people, and its possible correlates; and (2) assess the determinants of health status and transitions in health status. The wealth of data to be provided by the longitudinal study will allow a better understanding of the changes and transitions experienced by older people over time, including assessing the precursors and risk factors related to diseases, death, and the general wellbeing of older people.
