Each student’s acceptance of the equipment indicates the student’s and parent/guardian’s acceptance of the responsibility to care for the equipment and ensure that it is kept secure and functional, as expressed in this document.

Tech Devices (Fire tablet, Chromebook, and WiFi Hotspot) are available for use by Santa Cruz Public Libraries cardholders in good standing with a signed Device Lending Agreement on file. A new Agreement must be signed annually. Upon checkout patrons 18 years old and over must provide a valid, government-issued ID matching their library record. Patrons 17 years old and under may not check out a Tech Device.

The purpose of Erving Elementary School’s one-to-one device program is to provide equitable access to educational content for all K-6 students whether online or in-person. This initiative will promote personalized learning and support students’ ability to engage in dynamic classroom learning experiences. Devices will be distributed at the start of school and will be returned on the last day unless enrollment status changes warrant an earlier return.
