BACKGROUND

Since the post-World War II era, the City has been preserving paper records of all Planning applications and Building Permit activity. These combined files represent the history of the built environment in Sausalito. These files have become voluminous over the years. They currently occupy 120 square feet of office space, stacked 8 feet high, comprising 315 linear feet of shelving. The area where these files are stored is now over capacity, with files being boxed and put on the floor. There is no space left to file new applications or permits.
