Purpose: The purpose of this agreement is to provide expert assistance to neighboring Ports during a disaster of sufficient size as to make it difficult for a single Port to recover operations in a timely manner without outside assistance. The agreement will provide assistance in the form of experienced marine maintenance personnel and equipment, and emergency management staff or others as requested by the impacted facility. The goal is to support regional resilience by ensuring that critical Maritime Infrastructure can recover quickly to support local response efforts as well as the regional economy.
