In October 2023, the City of Charlotte, agreed to participate in a joint ambulance service agreement with fifteen municipalities in the Eaton County Area. The term of the agreement is four years, starting January 2024 and ending December 2028. Since the original signing, three municipalities are no longer participating. These municipalities are Sunfield Township, Vermontville Township, and Bellevue Village. Because of the change in participating membership, the cost of the service, and the percentage charged to each municipality, the City Council is required to decide on the contract.
