THAT Halifax Regional Council direct the Chief Administrative Officer to provide a staff report outlining the operating agreement for The Bay Community Centre by the Head of St. Margaret Bay/Boutilier’s Point Recreation Association including any sub leasing within the centre and that a report be brought back to Regional Council with recommendations regarding the governance model moving forward.

This Facility Operating Agreement is between Sarasota County Government (the “County”) and the Atlanta National League Baseball Club (“ANLBC”) and sets forth the terms and conditions of a new spring training facility (the “Facility”). During an initial 30-year term for spring training, the Facility will be operated year-round to house additional special events, fantasy camps, concerts and festivals. The Braves will also have two (2) options to extend the term for consecutive five (5) year periods after the initial term. The County, ANLBC and West Villages Improvement District (“WVID”) have also negotiated a Non-Relocation Agreement that has committed the Braves to playing spring training games at the Facility until at least 2048. These agreements require Major League Baseball approval and are subordinate to MLB Rules and Regulations.
