Fire and Ems Services Agreement • December 2nd, 2022

The Fire Chief and I met with Oxford Township Trustee President Gary Salmon to discuss a new agreement for the provision of Fire and EMS services in the unincorporated portion of the Township. The current three year agreement included an annual payment of $126,000 and expires on December 31, 2022. A proposed two year agreement has been submitted to the Township Trustees. The proposed amount is $158,000 per year paid in two installments of $79,000 each. This figure is based on Fire/EMS expenditures minus EMS billing revenue times Oxford Township’s percentage of total calls for Fire/EMS service (6.74%). The trustees have agreed to this annual amount at their November 16th meeting. A resolution authorizing the City Manager to sign the agreement with Oxford Township will be on the Council agenda for the December 6th meeting.

This Agreement shall be effective January 1, 2023, after it has been fully signed and filed with the Oakland County Clerk and Michigan Secretary of State, and is between the CHARTER TOWNSHIP OF WATERFORD, 5200 Civic Center Drive, Waterford, MI 48329 (hereafter called “TOWNSHIP”), and the CITY OF LAKE ANGELUS, 45 Gallogly Road, Lake Angelus, MI 48326 (hereafter called “CITY”). In consideration of the promises and covenants contained herein, and other valuable consideration, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, the Township and City agree as follows:
