Extension of time upto 30 days for the remittance of the balance 2/3 value can be granted by the Divisional Forest Officer subject to recovery of penal interest at 12% per annum and failure to remit any of the above installments even during the extended period will entail cancellation of the contract and forfeiture of all moneys paid till them and all produce remaining in the coupe. The Chief Conservator of Forests has reported that many practical difficulties are being experienced in implementing the above condition of the agreement.
