Please, read carefully and initial after each paragraph. Foster parents to the animals will house our cats and dogs. They will sign a foster contract, which will be kept by the Foster Coordinator. Fosters will be given all known info about their pet, but sometimes they will be receiving the animal as soon as it is rescued and not much information will be available. Fosters must give the rescue a minimum of 72 hours-notice if the pet needs to be moved, but the rescue prefers 10 days-notice whenever possible. Fosters will be provided the needed supplies unless they choose to provide them themselves. OPMRC will not reimburse money for supplies fosters have purchased UNLESS they get prior approval to purchase supplies and provide receipt. If the foster animal has special needs, such as a special food, treats or toys, fosters will notify Staff, and these items will be provided. The purpose of foster care is to allow a dog to live in a home environment while awaiting permanent placement, permitting the Foster Family to evaluate the pet and to work with the pet to reincorporate him or her back into a home environment. A home environment is less stressful on the pet than a boarding facility or shelter. The exposure the pet gets from being treated as "one of the family" (walks, outings, etc...) often speeds up the adoption process. Woof Pack considers our Foster Families to be essential to the welfare and proper placement of our pets, and wishes the experience to be enjoyable and free from misunderstandings.
