TERMS & AGREEMENTS FOR THE HAVANESE RESCUE, INC (HRI) FOSTER-TO-ADOPT (F2A) PROGRAMFoster-to-Adopt Agreement • February 13th, 2023
In addition to providing food and shelter, the F2A is responsible for the purchase and administration of flea/tick and heartworm medications for the dog. Because you have the advantage of first choice of the dog, the F2A is encouraged to absorb the cost of spay or neuter if these are needed. Please utilize a low cost vet clinic for these procedures if HRI is to pay. HRI will provide for a routine wellness check and tests per our HRI Veterinary protocol. In the event the dog requires medical treatment, the F2A will need to inform HRI and provide an estimate of the cost for approval from HRI. Of course, in the event of an emergency, seek care first and contact HRI afterwards.

If the Cat has not been spayed or neutered as of the date of this contract, I agree to adopt the Cat upon such time as the Cat is spayed or neutered by CP’s veterinarians. Half of the adoption fee (“First Installment”) will be collected on the initial date of the contract and such adoption will be finalized, when the Cat is spayed or neutered, by my payment of the second half (“Second Installment”) of the adoption fee to CP.

This agreement is by and between The Canine Compassion Fund, Inc. (CCF) and the undersigned Foster-to-Adopt applicant regarding the canine described herein. CCF’s Foster-to-Adopt Program was created to place both unaltered dogs and dogs undergoing heartworm treatment into approved forever homes in a foster situation prior to adoption. The Foster-to-Adopt Program allows approved applicants to take either an unaltered dog into their home until the dog is old enough or healthy enough to be spayed/neutered by a licensed veterinarian or a dog undergoing heartworm treatment until such treatment is complete. If the Foster-to-Adopt family is accepted, they will foster the dog until it is altered or until heartworm treatment is complete, and then the adoption agreement will be finalized.
