Washburn University and Washburn Tech previously signed and returned to the Department of Education the Funding Certification and Agreement Emergency Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. By drawing down the funds from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) and American Rescue Plan (ARP), Washburn University and Washburn Tech agreed to the terms and conditions. During this quarter, Washburn was notified of the HEERF III (ARP) allocation. This increased the total amount to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students from $4,500,174 to $11,707,322. Washburn and Washburn Tech intend to fully utilize the amounts provided. Plans for utilizing these additional funds are in progress.
