The Parent Department (Grant Recipient) agrees to share indirect costs (or F&A) with the Co-Investigator (or other staff member) of the Collaborating Department who is identified in the grant proposal as a substantial contributor to the project. The Parent Department will relinquish indirect costs to the Collaborating Department in the amount that is equal to the approved F&A rate on direct cost line items specifically budgeted for Collaborating Department, less 5% for administrative support. This preliminary agreement shall be made between the Chairs whose faculty (or other staff members) wish to collaborate, prior to submission of the grant proposal through email approval and confirmation. Department Chairs, Department Administrators, and Principal Investigator must be included in the approval process.
