Education Queensland uses an extensive filter mechanism in an endeavour to protect children from inappropriate sites. Internet use at school has a learning purpose, under the broad supervision of the classroom teacher. Students are NOT permitted access for free web “surfing”. However no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure and responsible use by students is important. Because misbehaviour using devices can easily have extensive consequences, responses to student mis-use may also bring significant consequences.
