During the Autumn term, the academy will provide new Year 12 students with access to an Apple 32GB Education iPad as their personal digital device. Students will be able to retain the iPad assigned to them until the completion of their courses in Year 13 (June 2024), after which time they will have the option to either return the device or purchase it outright at residual value. MDM profiling will be used to initially set up the iPad and restrict access of apps to age-appropriate use, with monitoring and filtering of internet use, both in and out of school. The aim of the 1:1 iPad programme at The de Ferrers Trust is to equip every student with the tools and resources needed to support twenty first century learning. The use and integration of new technologies is central to this programme. We believe it can significantly improve the attainment and study skills of students, in addition to enhancing teaching & learning.

During the Autumn term, the academy will provide all Year 7 students with access to an Apple 32GB Education iPad as their personal digital device. Students will be able to retain the iPad assigned to them until the completion of their courses in Year 11 (June 2027), after which time they will have the option to either return the device or purchase it outright at residual value. They will also be able to continue to use them if they stay on as part of the Sixth Form. MDM profiling will be used to initially set up the iPad and restrict access of apps to age-appropriate use, with an intelligent ‘agent’ profile that will monitor and filter internet use, both in and out of school.
