This stairwell is within the street right-of-way and falls with the boundaries of the downtown streetscape improvements. The owner would like to keep access to that space and has agreed to share with the costs of reconstructing the stairwell. The owner will pay for the costs associated with the concrete steps, concrete landing and handrail which is estimated at $5,380. These costs will be assessed against the property as part of the total project assessments. The agreement is for 40 years and the property owner will be responsible for any improvements to the stairwell beyond the warranty after it is reconstructed.
