DRAFT MODEL SHORT SCOTTISH SECURE TENANCY AGREEMENTModel Short Scottish Secure Tenancy Agreement • January 18th, 2002
Contract Type FiledJanuary 18th, 2002The short Scottish secure tenancy (short SST) has many of the features of the Scottish secure tenancy (SST) set out in Part 2 of the Housing (Scotland) Act 2001, but also some key differences. The majority of tenancies that social landlords will offer to their tenants will be Scottish secure tenancies but in specifically defined circumstances, it will not be appropriate for a full Scottish secure tenancy to be offered and social landlords will be able, but not obliged, to offer a short SST instead. The current intention is that landlords will be able to offer the short Scottish secure tenancy, where appropriate, from 30 September 2002.
