Contract Type FiledFebruary 12th, 2020Faculty developing a course will be compensated $2500 for designing a new course or $1250 for redesigning a course. These rates are the maximum compensation based on a 3-hour course or equivalent. Rate may be reduced depending on credit hours. Half of the development stipend will be disbursed when course development agreement is approved by chair/dean and course development begins. The remaining stipend will be disbursed when development is completed, the course meets QM standards at 85%, and the instructional designer has marked the course as complete. The course must be reviewed and revised by the end of the 12 weeks to be eligible for the final stipend. Courses that do not meet standards will not be eligible for final development payment.

The faculty member is not necessarily responsible for loading the content into the learning management system (LMS), but must at least provide the information via Word, Excel or PDF files to the Instructional Designer who will build the course. Or, if the faculty member chooses, s/he may load the content directly into the LMS (following the completion of certification courses CTL 302 and 303).
