The purpose of the Seat Time Waiver option to on-line learning is to help students work towards a high school diploma, grade progression, and prepare for post-secondary education or the workforce. At the same time, it gives students the opportunity to explore technology as a tool for learning. The classes structured under the Seat Time Waiver option will follow the same semester timelines as the traditional classroom version of the course, with progress due on a weekly basis. However, the Seat Time Waiver option removes the days, hours, and physical attendance requirements, which are part of the traditional classroom setting. Additionally, students are to complete the course requirements independently within those timelines.
