CornellAD is the integration of Microsoft Active Directory with Cornell’s central IT infrastructure that provides such functionality as access management, account provisioning and deprovisioning, and LDAP directory services. Active Directory is Microsoft’s implementation of standard directory and authentication services. It enables unit IT support staff to efficiently manage the computing resources on their network. CornellAD eliminates the need for the local unit to maintain the core Active Directory infrastructure themselves. Campus IT staff can focus on needs specific to their local units.
