The Department of Energy provides workforce resources to support the Department’s mission and strategic plan objectives and requirements in overseas assignments. The individuals and their families carrying out these assignments need to be prepared to work with other Federal agencies, such as the Departments of State (DOS) and Defense (DOD), and with representatives of foreign governments, non-profit organizations, and commercial enterprises. Prior to the beginning, and while carrying out, the assignment, appropriate training will help ensure the achievement of the Departmental mission objectives. The primary mission of the DOE Overseas Corps Training Program (DOCTP) is to provide operationally-ready, departmental-skilled personnel to support U.S. interests abroad in the advancement of energy, nuclear security, and scientific discovery and innovation, in order to meet the present and future needs of DOE and the nation.
