As the teen driver, I pledge to: As the parent/guardian, I pledge to: FOCUS ON DRIVING¨ Never text or talk on the phone while driving¨ Never drive when I am angry, upset, or tired¨ Never use headphones/earbuds while driving¨ Only drive with less than passengers OBEY THE RULES OF THE ROAD¨ Always wear my seat belt and require my passengers to buckle up¨ Obey the speed limit and adjust speed for road/ weather conditions¨ Drive only during the approved hours for my License/age¨ Respect the rights other road users (motorists, motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrians) RESPECT DRUG AND ALCOHOL LAWS¨ Drive only when I am drug and alcohol free (including perscription and over-the-counter drugs that can affect driving)¨ Never allow any alcohol or drugs in the car¨ Only ride with drivers who are drug/alcohol free PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE¨ Model safe driving behavior¨ Spend at least minutes a day or hours a week with my teen practicing driving¨ Ensure that my teen practices a minimum of 50 h
