The purposes of this Agreement are to promote efficiency of construction operations during covered Projects, to ensure an adequate supply of skilled craftspeople and to provide for peaceful settlement of labor disputes and grievances without strikes or lockouts, thereby promoting the District’s and the public interest in ensuring the timely and economical completion of the construction projects covered by this Agreement. It is the intent of the parties to set out uniform and fair working conditions for the efficient completion of the Projects, to maintain harmonious labor/management relations and to eliminate the risk of strikes, lockouts and other delays. The parties agree that one of the primary purposes of this Agreement is to avoid the tension that might arise on a Project if Union and non-union workers of different contractors were to work side-by-side on a Project, thereby potentially leading to labor disputes that could delay completion of a Project.

SIDE LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING

This Side Letter of Understanding between the Santa Rosa Junior College (“College”), the Sonoma, Lake and Mendocino Building & Construction Trades Council (“Council”) and its affiliated local unions (“Unions”) will serve to memorialize the commitment and mutual agreement of the College, Council and its affiliate unions to meet and confer for the purpose of establishing a joint program enabling individuals to complete their Associate Arts degree at the College and an apprentice training program of an affiliated union. Further, the College, Council and Unions will report on the status of establishing and performance of the program on a regular periodic basis commencing no later than November 1, 2017.

This is to confirm that my Company agrees to be party to and bound by the San Diego Unified School District Project Stabilization Agreement – School Construction Major Rehabilitation Funded by Propositions S and Z, effective July 28, 2009 and as subsequently amended, as such Agreement may from time to time be amended by the negotiating parties or interpreted pursuant to its terms. Such obligation to be a party and bound by this Agreement shall extend to all work covered by the Agreement undertaken by this Company on the Project pursuant to CC22-0062-39 – TAFT MIDDLE SCHOOL JOINT USE FIELD AND MAKERSPACE, and this Company shall require all of its subcontractors and others covered by the PSA of whatever tier to be similarly bound for all work within the scope of the Agreement by signing and furnishing to the District’s Contract Compliance Office an identical Letter of Assent prior to their commencement of work.
