Urban will prepare the Preliminary Design to mitigate the geometric and traffic signal concerns that have led to 19 reportable crashes at or in the vicinity of the intersection in the last 3 years. The team will analyze the crashes and develop multiple alternatives that can improve the overall intersection safety and operations. Due to the issues at the intersection including the proximity of utilities, the limited right-of- way, and the presence of the culvert the alternatives will range in complexity and impact. Once all the alternatives have been developed a comparison can be made to arrive at an Initially Preferred Alternative (IPA). This IPA will be advanced for permitting and CED purposes.
