Contract Type FiledJuly 19th, 2017The district has partnered for many years with Pyramid Healthcare and their Soaring Heights School (SHS), a private academic school licensed and operated in accordance with the federal Private Academic Schools Act. SHS offers specialized education and services for students diagnosed with autism. Prior to the start of the 2015-2016 school year, the SHS was located in Clearfield, PA. The district transported students there if they needed this level of support. The current satellite location for SHS is at 180 Regent Court, Suite 50, in State College. Students are placed in the Soaring Heights School only after the district, and the student’s IEP team, including parents or guardians, have data to support a more restrictive school setting. By all accounts, the partnership has proven successful.
