From academic year 2012/13 funding to colleges will be distributed to the regional body responsible for planning and delivering college education provision in that region. This funding will be allocated on the basis of an outcome agreement between the college region and the Scottish Funding Council (SFC), setting out the activities the region will undertake and the contribution that it is expected to make to nationally agreed outcomes.

In 2021/22 Edinburgh College staff showed tremendous agility and resilience throughout a disrupted year, marred by the pandemic, by continuing to deliver high-quality learning, teaching, operations, and support to all our students. We exceeded our core credits and European Social Funding credits activity target of 187,741 by 1% for the year. There was also an increase in the number of unique student enrolments in the year at 27,647 – a rise of 3,439 compared to 2020/21. The College expanded delivery of courses for employers. Our Key Performance Indicators for Completed Success (CS)% improved by 1.62%, exceeding our Outcome Agreement (OA) targets in three modes of attendance. Of particular note was improvement in full-time (FT) Further Education (FE)

This Outcome Agreement (OA) for 2018-2021 aligns with regional priorities and sets out how Fife College will contribute to the development of a strong local and national economy over the next three years. The OA has been developed through consultation with the College’s Board of Governors, which includes representation from the Fife College Student Association. The College is committed to involving the Student Association across the full range of its activities, including the development of the College’s Strategy and Regional Outcome Agreement.

The University of the Highlands and Islands fully supports the principles of developing effective operational links between higher education, research and innovation/wealth generation. This is aligned with the governing principles of the University, which include an ambition to support and inspire the development a knowledge based economy.
