Viking has pre-empted two thrillers by Emiko Jean in a six-figure deal. Editorial director Rosa Schierenberg bought UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Lorella Belli at Lorella Belli Literary Agency Ltd, on behalf of Erin Harris at Folio Literary Management. Carina Guiterman at Simon & Schuster signed North American rights in a near-seven figure deal, and further rights have been sold in Germany, Hungary and Japan. The Next Girl, the first book in the deal, is out in hardback, trade paperback, ebook and audio in May 2024.

Ansa Khan Khattak, Senior Commissioning Editor at Hutchinson Heinemann, has acquired at auction UK & Commonwealth rights (ex. New Zealand) for Greta & Valdin by Rebecca K. Reilly, from Martha Perotto-Wills at The Bent Agency. North American rights sold to Amy Guay at Avid Reader Press, and Hutchinson Heinemann will publish in the UK in early 2024.
