The existence of the West River Health Care Consortium Management Advisory Committee (WRMAC) has existed in some capacity since 1987. The consortium consists of representatives from the BOR office, SDSU, USD, BHSU, DSU, SDSM&T, and Rapid City Regional Hospital. The initial purpose of the consortium was to provide nursing education in the West River region through Regental institutions rather than through the hospital.
