The refuge is located at Williams Heights Elementary school, in Waycross Georgia. While this agreement is still currently in place several of the persons who originally signed the document are no longer with either entity. The agreement will not change, this is just an opportunity to update the signature page and make it more current. To do this would require the signature of the Chairman of the Glynn County Board of Commission and the Glynn County EMA Director, for Glynn County. And the signatures of Ware County EMA Director and Superintendent of Ware County Schools for Ware County. Glynn County has an agreement in place with the Ware County Board of Education to provide refuge in the event a hurricane or other disaster that may cause the partial or full evacuation of local government employees and their families. Glynn County has had to use these facilities in the recent past. While this agreement is currently in place, by signing this current agreement it will update, signatures and dates to continue to participate in this valuable memorandum of understanding. It is Staff’s recommendation that this updated agreement, be signed by all parties and kept on file in case of future need during disasters.
