This Agreement is concluded by the Signatory Governments and sets forth the legal status of the Armed Forces of the United States, their members, and associated civilians, while present in the Federated States of Micronesia pursuant to Section 323 of the Compact of Free Association (the Compact), as amended.

Under the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Republic of Italy, all U.S. military and civilian personnel working at Sigonella, and their family members, are subject to Italian law and come under Italian jurisdiction for criminal offenses. You should be protected for other offenses if the act was performed in the line of duty.
