The City of Fort Lauderdale (City) entered into a Consent Order (CO) with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP), Office of the General Council, on September 29, 2017, which identified various projects along with completion deadlines, that are required to improve sanitary service within the City. The CO requires an approximate 3,000-foot section of 24-inch cast iron force main along NW 13th Street from NW 9th Avenue (Powerline Road) to North Andrews Avenue to be replaced or rehabilitated. This force main has been the subject of a total of five (5) sewer main breaks in the past year alone.
