Temporary Telecommute Agreement • March 17th, 2020

This Telecommuting Agreement (Agreement) is voluntarily entered into between the Los Angeles Community College District (“the District”) and the undersigned telecommuter (“Telecommuter”). It is the intent of this Agreement to, at a minimum, maintain the quantity, quality, and integrity of work product by the District employees, while reducing the climate effects of commuting during this period of social distancing to mitigate the potential spread of COVID-19. This Agreement is also a necessary tool in the event of mandated closure of the District office and District campuses due to any medical, disaster, or other emergencies. It is understood by the parties that the work duties and responsibilities performed in this Agreement are consistent with the duties and responsibilities defined in the Telecommuter’s job duty statement.

This Agreement must be signed and approved by the employee’s manager or supervisor and the head of the department in consultation with their respective Vice Chancellor (or Dean). The agreement will be sent to Human Resources and placed in the employee’s personnel file. This Agreement supersedes any prior Telecommuting Agreement in place between the employee and UC Merced, if any. When management determines to end this Temporary Telecommute Agreement, your prior Telecommuting Agreement, if any, would resume unless otherwise agreed and memorialized in a new Telecommuting Agreement. In instances where no prior Telecommuting Agreement existed and management determines some form of remote work arrangement is appropriate going forward, a new Telecommuting Agreement must be prepared and signed. Note that having successfully engaged in temporary telecommuting pursuant to this Agreement, or a prior agreement does not require management to agree to any future remote work.
