Contract Type FiledMarch 24th, 2003The Southern African Customs Union (SACU) was created in 1910 between the newly established Union of South Africa and the separate protectorates of Botswana, Lesotho, and Swaziland. The agreement was renegotiated in 1969 and Namibia join ed this regional group in 1990. SACU currently comprises 5 member States: SA and the so-called ‘BLNS’ countries, namely Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, and Swaziland.
