TREE PLANTING & MAINTENANCE AGREEMENTPUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT / ENGINEERING DIVISION8130 Allison Avenue, La Mesa, CA 91941 Phone: 619.667.1166 • Fax: 619.667.1380 PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING THE AGREEMENT To join your neighborhood street tree planting in partnership with The City of La Mesa the responsibilities are: MaintenanceIn planting on the sidewalk or in the parkway adjacent to a property, the owner accepts responsibility for the tree's maintenance, both for the sake of its survival and for the beauty and safety of the neighborhood and all passersby. WateringSpecifically, a tree must be watered deeply and regularly – initially, about 15-20 gallons once a week – as necessary to keep moist. The basin must also be weeded, kept full of soil, empty of trash and mulched as necessary. The City of La Mesa staff will give you information and advice about watering and further maintenance at any time thereafter. Maintenance responsibility can be voluntarily assumed
