Contract Type FiledSeptember 19th, 2023This draft Agreement has been developed by the Parties pursuant to resolutions endorsed by the Union of BC Indian Chiefs (UBCIC), the First Nations Summit (FNS), and the BC Assembly of First Nations (BCAFN) – working together as the FNLC. Once finalized, the Agreement establishes a comprehensive framework that supports an integrated and collaborative approach to enhance and protect ecosystem health and biodiversity within BC. This approach is reflective of the shared federal and provincial goal to halt and reverse biodiversity loss, increase the resilience of landscapes in the face of climate change, and protect 30% of terrestrial areas within the province by 2030.
