Lambert High School is very fortunate to have a large amount of highly competitive tennis players tryout for the JV and Varsity teams. With the level of skill many of our students bring to the tryouts, along with the sheer number of hopeful players that come out, “cuts” are unavoidable. Coaches will make cuts at the end of each tryout day in order to better analyze players who they believe have the best chance at playing a role within our tennis program. Cuts and future selections are determined by the coaching staff alone, based on the players character, current skill level, athletic potential, coachability, attitude, and so on.. The results of match play, as well as UTR’s, if the person has one, are taken into account but are by no means the determining factor(s) in the selection process.
