Previously the packing media in two of the towers was replaced in July 2019 and the other two towers in December 2019. At that time, the existing packing was compacted and had solidified (mainly in the lower section of the tower and sides). Project completion took approximately 10 business days, each tower, which included manual chipping to remove the existing material. In 2020 four degasification towers had the packing material removed and replaced.
