It is recognized that ambulance service providers may experience response requests or demands that extend beyond or overwhelm the normal required staffing and ambulance fleet resource levels. Furthermore, it is recognized that ambulance service providers may have one or more ambulances out of service for valid reasons, or additional resources from other service providers and/or emergency responders may be needed. As such, all parties agree that it is in the public interest to form a mutual aid pact that establishes a method whereby adjoining ambulance services and/or emergency responders can provide supplementary assistance to each other when conditions necessitate.
