Aberrant behavior for a student may involve out-of-character responses or actions which could lead the staff member to believe the student is on a pathway to self-harm or violence.Staff who have concerns regarding threats of immediate or imminent risk to physical safety such as suicide, school shootings or other serious threat to life should be reported to law enforcement immediately using 911.
Aberrant behavior regarding opioid use, such as repeated visits to an emergency department (“ED”) seeking opioids.
Aberrant behavior is that which is atypical for the person or situation and causes concern for the safety or well-being of those involved.
Aberrant behavior for an individual involves actions, statements, communications or responses that are unusual for the person or situation; or actions which could lead to violence toward self or others; or are reasonably perceived as threatening or causing concern for the well- being of the person.
The definitions in this section apply to WAC 246-817-901 through 246-817-980 unless the context clear- ly requires otherwise:(1) "Aberrant behavior" means behavior that indicates misuse, di- version or substance use disorder.
