Adoptive Leave definition

Adoptive Leave. A leave of absence for the purpose of adoption shall be granted for up to a period of one (1) calendar year. Notice of intent to take this leave shall be given as soon as possible and certainly no later than thirty (30) days before the commencement of the leave when possible. Adoption leave shall be taken concurrent with FMLA.

Examples of Adoptive Leave in a sentence

  • The Chief Superintendent or designee shall be authorized to grant leaves in accordance with the Adoptive Leave Section, with the exception that additional leave requested in accordance with Section 3.6 shall require approval of the Board.

  • Adoptive Leave shall not exceed an aggregate of three (3) paid days per employee in any given school year.

  • Pregnancy Leave, Pregnancy and Delivery Support Leave, Adoptive Leave, and Care-giver Leave shall run concurrently with FMLA, if applicable.

  • The top-up for Adoptive Leave will be 95% of regular salary for the two week waiting period.

  • Adoptive Leave shall be available to an Employee who adopts a child.

  • The eight (8) week period will include the two (2) week waiting period and is not in addition to the fifteen (15) week Adoptive Leave maximum and the thirty-five (37) week Parental Leave maximum.

  • It is understood that a Teacher’s total compensation during the Adoptive Leave will not be greater than the total compensation the Teacher would receive if actively at work during the period of the Adoptive Leave.

  • The Board contributions to benefits will be in accordance with Clause 18.07 during both the Adoptive Leave and the Parental Leave.

  • The Chief Superintendent or designee shall be authorized to grant leaves in accordance with the Adoptive Leave Section, with the exception that additional leave requested in accordance with Section 3.6 beyond twelve (12) weeks shall require approval of the Board.

  • Additional Adoptive Leave shall not exceed the teacher’s accumulated Sick Leave.

Related to Adoptive Leave

  • Adoptive home means the place of residence of any natural person in which a child resides as a

  • parental bereavement leave means leave under section 80EA of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • Adoptive parent means a person who has adopted a child in terms of any law;

  • adoption leave means a period of absence from work on ordinary or additional adoption leave by virtue of section 75A or 75B of the Employment Rights Act 1996;

  • Intermittent Leave means leave taken in separate blocks of time due to a single qualifying reason.
