Alternative Renewable Energy Source definition

Alternative Renewable Energy Source means a form of energy or matter that is capable of being converted into forms of energy useful to mankind, including electricity, and the technology necessary to make this conversion, when the source is not exhaustible in terms of this planet and when the source or technology is not in general commercial use. The term includes but is not limited to:
Alternative Renewable Energy Source. – means any electricity source that produces electric power through the use of alternative renewable energy, as such term is defined in this Act.
Alternative Renewable Energy Source means a form of energy or matter, such as solar energy, wind energy, geothermal energy, conversion of biomass, fuel cells, small hydroelectric generators producing less than 50 kilowatts, or methane from solid waste, that is capable of being converted into forms of energy useful to mankind, including electricity, and the technology necessary to make this conversion, when the source is not exhaustible in terms of this planet and when the source or the technology are not in general commercial use.

  • Renewable Energy Source means an energy source that is not fossil carbon-based, non- renewable or radioactive, and may include solar, wind, biomass, geothermal, landfill gas, or wave, tidal and thermal ocean technologies, and includes a Certified Renewable Energy Source.
