Casual Hours definition

Casual Hours or “Casual Shift” means the hours of work for the replacement of permanent employees for leaves including but not limited to sickness, vacation and other leaves as well as extra shifts beyond the regular complement hours.

Examples of Casual Hours in a sentence

  • Each Team's Casual Hours List shall include the names of casual employees, and regular part-time employees who have notified the Employer of their desire to work additional hours, and whose names have not been removed from the list under this clause.

  • In the event the operational needs are not being met, the Employer will approach employees on the Team's Casual Hours List to voluntarily increase their availability to meet those needs.

  • For clarification, Casual Nurses cannot convert more than 1950 hours of Casual Seniority for each year of employment from February 26, 2004 regardless of the number of Casual Hours worked in any one (1) year from February 26, 2004.

  • If no regular part-time employees accept a block, the block shall be offered to all employees on a Team's Casual Hours List, in order of seniority, who are qualified and have the skills to perform the work.

  • For clarification, Casual Nurses cannot convert more than 2080 hours of Casual Seniority for each year of employment regardless of the number of Casual Hours worked in any one (1) year.

  • For clarification, Casual Nurses cannot convert more than 1950 hours of Casual Seniority for each year of employment from July 21, 2008 regardless of the number of Casual Hours worked in any one (1) year from the date of signing of this Agreement.

  • Failure to advise on availability and/or non-availability, will be in accordance with Memorandum of Understanding #1 Re: Scheduling of Casual Hours for Anti Violence Crisis Workers, Section 1.2 (Availability for Casual Hours).

  • For a casual employee, removal from a Team Casual Hours List will result in termination unless a casual employee is on another Team Casual List.

  • For clarification, Casual Nurses cannot convert more than 2080 hours of Casual Seniority for each year of employment from February 26, 2004, regardless of the number of Casual Hours worked in any one (1) year from February 26, 2004.

  • If an employee removed from a Casual Hours List is also on the Recall List, the employee will remain on the Recall List in accordance with Article 11.

Related to Casual Hours

  • office hours means the period beginning at 10:00 a.m. of a day and ending at 4:30 p.m. of the same day.

  • Service Hours means the hours limited in the applicable Notification Form during which the Services are provided, it being understood that different Service Hours can apply for different Services.

  • Base Hours means the hours of work for which a staff member receives compensation. Base hours shall include overtime hours for which a staff member is paid additional or overtime compensation, and hours for which a staff member receives workers’ compensation benefits. Base hours shall also include hours a staff member would have worked except for having been in military service. Base hours do not include hours for when a staff member receives other types of compensation, such as administrative, personal leave, vacation, or sick leave.

  • Core Hours means the period beginning at 8am and ending at 6.30pm on any day from Monday to Friday except Good Friday, Christmas Day or bank holidays;

  • Ordinary Hours means the Ordinary Hours that the Employee is required to work which are 36 hours per week, 8 hours per day Monday to Friday (with 0.8 hours per day accruing for a paid Rostered Day Off)
