Catholic Entity definition

Catholic Entity means any one of the entities set out in Schedule A hereto. “Catholic Entities” means the entities set out in Schedule A hereto.

Examples of Catholic Entity in a sentence

  • Church Authority means: (a) a Bishop; (b) the Australian Major Superior in respect of religious institutes or societies of apostolic life; or (c) the Canonical Steward in relation to a particular Catholic Entity in respect of other Catholic Entities not referred to in (a) or (b) above.

  • A “Class 4 Claim” means a claim against the Archdiocese held by a Catholic Entity arising from or related in any way to the collection and use of payments made by such claimant to the Archdiocese under the AMBP, including any claim arising from the administration by the Archdiocese of the AMBP.

  • Insurance Policy(ies)” means any contract, binder, certificate, or policy of insurance in effect on or before the Effective Date issued to, allegedly issued to, or for the benefit of the Archdiocese or any Catholic Entity, or any of their predecessors in interest, successors or assigns, under which coverage exists or may exist for a Tort Claim.

  • Catholic Entity Personnel means a cleric, member of a religious institute/society of apostolic life or other person who is employed by a Catholic Entity or engaged by the Catholic Entity on a contract, subcontract, voluntary or unpaid basis.

  • Additionally, any action against any insurer related to any insurance policy (except with respect to those actions enjoined by the injunctions set forth in Article XII of the Amended Plan) shall be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction other than the Bankruptcy Court; provided, however, that nothing herein waives any right of any Catholic Entity, the Plan Trust, or any Insurer to require arbitration to the extent the relevant insurance policy provides for such.

  • Unsubstantiated Claims Receiving a Distribution at the Creditors’ Committee’s Request” means any Abuse Survivor Claim that meets the following criteria: (i) the Claimant did not release the Archdiocese from liability associated with the Abuse; and(ii) the Claim alleges sexual abuse of a minor by either (a) an Archdiocesan Priest who is not on List of Substantiated Abusers or (b) a member of a Religious Order or Lay Person working at an entity that is not a Catholic Entity.

  • Documents sufficient to show all other transfers of property from any Other Catholic Entity to the Debtor in excess of $10,000.23.

  • Appendix 6: Allegations Concerning a Catholic Entity Distinct from theArchdiocese Upon receipt of an allegation that concerns a catholic organization or institution other than a parish or the archdiocese, the archbishop’s delegate will inform the chief authority of the catholic organization or institution of the place of the allegation.

  • Abuse Survivor Plan Pool Claims” means any Abuse Survivor Claim that meets the following criteria: (i) the Claimant did not release the Archdiocese from liability associated with the Abuse; and (ii) the Claim alleges sexual abuse of a minor by either (a) a priest on the List of Substantiated Abusers or (b) a member of a Religious Order or Lay Person working at a Catholic Entity.

  • For the avoidance of doubt, “Archdiocesan Insurance Policies” does not include policies issued to any Catholic Entity, Other Insured Entity, or any other Person, that does not also insure the Archdiocese.

Related to Catholic Entity

  • Catholic means a member of a Church in full communion with the See of Rome. This includes the Latin Rite (Roman Catholics) and the Eastern Catholic Churches (see Appendix 3 of the Diocesan Admissions Guidance for a list of Churches in full communion with the See of Rome). This will normally be evidenced by a certificate of Baptism in a Catholic Church or a certificate of reception into the full communion of the Catholic Church. For the purposes of this policy, it includes a looked after child who is part of a Catholic family where a letter from a priest demonstrates that the child would have been baptised or received into the Church if it were not for their status as a looked after child (e.g. a looked after child in the process of adoption by a Catholic family).

  • Public entity means the State of Arkansas, or a political subdivision of the state, including all boards, commissions, agencies, institutions, authorities, and bodies politic and corporate of the state, created by or in accordance with state law or regulations, and does include colleges, universities, a statewide public employee retirement system, and institutions in Arkansas as well as units of local and municipal government.

  • Health care entity means any health care provider, health plan or health care clearinghouse.

  • School District/Public Entity means the School District/Public Entity that executes the contract.

  • Public hospital means a governmental entity of a political subdivision of the state of Iowa that is authorized by legislative authority. For purposes of this subrule, a “public hospital” must also meet the requirements of Iowa Code section 249J.3. Under Iowa Code section 249J.3, a “public hospital” must be licensed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 135B and governed pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 145A (merged hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347 (county hospitals), Iowa Code chapter 347A (county hospitals payable from revenue), or Iowa Code chapter 392 (creation by city of a hospital or health care facility). For the purposes of this definition, “public hospital” does not include a hospital or medical care facility that is funded, operated, or administered by the Iowa department of human services, Iowa department of corrections, or board of regents, or the Iowa Veterans Home.

  • JV Entity means any joint venture of the Borrower or any Restricted Subsidiary that is not a Subsidiary.

  • CCR means the California Code of Regulations.

  • Transferred Entities means the entities set forth on Schedule 1.9.

  • Business Entity/Vendor means any natural or legal person, business corporation, professional services corporation, limited liability company, partnership, limited partnership, business trust, association or any other legal commercial entity organized under the laws of New Jersey or any other state or foreign jurisdiction. The definition also includes (i) if a business entity is a for-profit corporation, any officer of the corporation and any other person or business entity that owns or controls 10% or more of the stock of the corporation; (ii) if a business entity is a professional corporation, any shareholder or officer; (iii) if a business entity is a general partnership, limited partnership or limited liability partnership, any partner; (iv) if a business entity is a sole proprietorship, the proprietor; (v) if the business entity is any other form of entity organized under the laws of New Jersey or any other state or foreign jurisdiction, any principal, officer or partner thereof; (vi) any subsidiaries directly or indirectly controlled by the business entity; (vii) any political organization organized under 26 U.S.C.A. § 527 that is directly or indirectly controlled by the business entity, other than a candidate committee, election fund, or political party committee; and (viii) with respect to an individual who is included within the definition of “business entity,” that individual's civil union partner and any child residing with that person. 1

  • Health Care Operations shall have the meaning given to such term under the HIPAA 2 Privacy Rule in 45 CFR § 164.501.

  • Managed care entity means either a managed care organization licensed by the department of insurance (e.g., HMO or PHP) or a primary care case management program (i.e., MediPASS).

  • Speech pathologist means a person who engages in the application of principles, methods, and procedures for the measurement, testing, evaluation, prediction, consultation, counseling, instruction, habilitation, rehabilitation, or remediation related to the development and disorders of speech, fluency, voice, or language for the purpose of nonmedically evaluating, preventing, ameliorating, modifying, or remediating such disorders and conditions in individuals or groups of individuals.

  • Health care worker means a person other than a health care professional who provides medical, dental, or other health-related care or treatment under the direction of a health care professional with the authority to direct that individual's activities, including medical technicians, medical assistants, dental assistants, orderlies, aides, and individuals acting in similar capacities.

  • Audiologist means an individual who is licensed by a state to practice audiology.

  • Health profession ’ means allopathic medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatric medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, podiatric medicine, nursing, public health nursing, dentistry, psychiatry, osteopathy, optometry, pharmacy, psychology, public health, social work, marriage and family therapy, chiropractic medicine, environmental health and engineering, and allied health profession, or any other health profession.

  • CMS means the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

  • Provider Organization means a group practice, facility, or organization that is:

  • Religious organization means a church, ecclesiastical corporation, or group, not organized for pecuniary profit, that gathers for mutual support and edification in piety or worship of a supreme deity.
