Creative Commons definition

Creative Commons is a Massachusetts, (U.S.A.) Corporation, with a headquarters in California (USA), and is the company whose various licenses of copyrighted materials govern the sharing and use of educational Content between all Content Providers and The University. The Creative Commons license, as selected by the Content Provider herein, is an integral part of the understanding of the Parties for the Content Provider’s furnishing of educational Content under this Agreement, and is hereby incorporated by reference into this Agreement.
Creative Commons means the organisation that provides licences that are asimple and standardised way for individual creators, companies, and institutions to share their work with others on flexible terms without infringing copyright. The licences allow users to copy, distribute, display and perform work. Some licences allow users to reuse, remix and share the content legally.
Creative Commons are examples of non-exclusive licenses. Your career is made up of your publications; these are the most important asset you have, and you owe it to yourself to protect your rights to use your own work. When you assign your copyright you effectively become a legal stranger to your own work. If you transfer your copyright, you become a legal stranger to your own work. By law, you have to ask permission & possibly pay to: * Caveat: In 35 years you can terminate the assignment and become the owner again.
